Remember how we said that even though the first leg of the book tour was over, we'd be adding occasional dates throughout the summer? Well, we're announcing the first one: We're heading to Milwaukee! Thursday, May 8!
We look forward to being welcome to the city by new Bucks general manager William Simmons. And if you don't think our appearance has anything to do with the fact that the Cardinals are in town that weekend, well, come on, obviously it is.
Here are the details.

HARRY W. SCHWARTZ BOOKSHOP
17145 W. Bluemound Road Brookfield, WI 53005
That's a pretty cool bookstore, too.
So hello, Milwaukee! And stay tuned, Cleveland, Atlanta and "somewhere in Texas!"

There are Jews in Wisconsin?
As if Milwaukee weren't already cool enough.
You mixed up the photographs. That one clearly shows a nice city.
Schlemiel, schlemozl, Hazenpfeffer Incorporated...
NEEDZ MOR NOO YORKZ
Make sure you check out the gay bars Jeffrey Dahmer frequented. You'll totally get some action, if that's your thing.
Milwaukee? Why that's nowhere near me! Just like every other stop on this tour.
Like the cleaning of a house, it never ends...
Barbara Walters Live! You are gonna miss it!
I see your Schwartz is as hairy as mine.
Pants Party at Frank DeFazio's Pizza Bowl afterward.
At last a stop where having no chicks show up would be considered a good thing.
Am I allowed to say that I think the book is fucking terrible?
Harry Johnson's Bookstore doesn't get a visit?
@Karate_Kid_Reference: Of course. Sometimes we even have whole discussions about it.
@Karate_Kid_Reference:
I suppose, but the prevailing Deadspin culture of witty and ironic civility would discourage it, or at the very least compel the response that the book couldn't possibly be any less creative than your username.
Be sure to dine at Mader's.
Is there an Ian's Pizza close?
@Wilf:
Or previous comment history? But sure go ahead KKR, what didn't you like about the book?
@Will Leitch: Make sure you talk to Justin Verlander. He told me he owns that place.
@Will Leitch:
While you're there, can you find out whatever happened to Chuck Cunningham?
Am I allowed to mention the main similarity between Milwaukee and Milwaukee's Best?
@goathair: Wait, Ian's exists outside of Madison?
Went to UWM, hated the hardware store business.
@thesepretzels: oops. re: chuck c.
@Sir Hotbod Handsomeface: hi, I'm in...Wisconsin?
@Sir Hotbod Handsomeface: So, do you come to Milwaukee often?
@Yinka Double Dare: Word on the street is they're building one in Chicago. And by street I mean State Street.
@smurphette: Does this guy know how to party or what?
You finally do a reading in Milwaukee, and I move away 3 weeks beforehand. Dammit. Anyway, they booked you at one of the suburban locations. Try to get a hotel downtown- Schwartz and/or the publisher usually hires this PR/handler type who has really big peroxided hair and drives an even bigger caddy.She'll get you to and from the gig. Once downtown, shuttle buses from the Water St. bars will get you to Miller Park. Enjoy your stay.
I don't believe you're actually going to the Jake. No Cards games there, my friend.
Will, the Cards are here to face the Royals June 27-29. I guess we'll see you then?
@Lady Andrea:
Aren't you off to Vegas tonight?
Have a great time.
Bet Xavier -8.5 over Georgia 12PM ET Thursday
@Sir Hotbod Handsomeface:
I believe you're looking for "In fact , it's pronounced 'mill-e-wah-que' which is Algonquin for 'the good land.'"
Or perhaps, "I think one of the most interesting things about Milwaukee is that it's the only American city to elect three Socialist mayors."
@Chief Wahoo: What does the Jake have against a little poker?
@Will Leitch: I too hated the book. Then again, I went to public school so I can barely read. I demand more pictures.
@Rob Iracane: I think they superimposed parts of Venice somehow, given the gondolas.
@goathair: That would be excellent. I'm pretty sure the founder of Ian's went to culinary school in Chicago, so I guess expanding here does make some sense.
@UkraineNotWeak: Xavier over Georgia at 8.5? No way! And yeah, I'm off at 8 pm and I am pumped. : )
I love Milwaukee. Really all of Wisconsin is quite nice. Except for the cheeseheads.

@Lady Andrea: Have fun and be safe.
@Lady Andrea:
Enjoy it. You got someone to call in case you need bail? :)
@new_commentator: I resemble that remark.
Milwaukee is kinda pretty when you're looking at a picture of it.
Well it is the most romantic city on Earth.
@Al Czerviks Ride: Poker? I hardly know her!
That photo is the Vegas version of Milwaukee. It's a new casino with a Milwaukee theme.
Wisconsin's official state beverage: milk.
@J-No: I will!
@UkraineNotWeak: probably Mama and Papa Lady Andrea.
@Steve Trachsel, Ace: And pop-ups, it just ain't classic literature without a pop-up in it.
If you look real hard, you can see my house. Its there, right across the lake.
