We sometimes wonder if old-school on-air sports personalities resent Tony Reali. His "rise" from researcher in 2000 to host of his own show today was ridiculously swift, and, frankly, the type of thing that should scare them a lot more than some silly blog.
That is not to rip on Reali, at all; clearly, he brings something to the table that others don't. The guy is 29 years old, and has a different mentality. Someone's obviously listening. And it's not just because he's pals with Kornheiser.
It sure beats researching facts on "Two Minute Drill."
So: Do you like the Tony Reali? Do you not like the Tony Reali? Let us know.

Stat Boy!
where's the mute button?
Well, he did mention the Underground on-air.
definition of a twit. dissaprove
Gotta rep for my fellow Rams. App...rove.
In order to fairly rate him, I think we should at least give him until puberty kicks in.
Don't take my Deadpsin.
Approve
How can you dissaprove of someone who belittles Kornheiser's contribution?
He's just not very telegenic. He falls over his words. He makes Will Leitch look like a television star in comparison.
He's been so smug ever since he got promoted to Dunder-Mifflin's head office.
Still, approve.
Seems like an okay kid. Not like the typical just-out-of-Syracuse, auditioning-for-a-gig-at-The-Chuckle-Hut idiot ESPN (and the sports media in general) likes to try to foist upon us regularly.
My instinct was to disapprove but i think that's because of the other baffoons on his show. The guy coined the term "willybuns" which, I hope actually pisses Wilbon off.
Approve.
The fact that he's surrounded by Mariotti and Page every single day and hasn't killed an intern is means enough for an approve.
Approve. I like that he makes fun of the sportswriters on his show.
Thinks he's much cooler than he actually is. Then again, so do I.
Approve
Mild disapprove. Like him in his Stat Boy capability, unfortunately, hosts and tolerates the likes of Woody Paige and Jay Mariotti every day without trying to reach through the screens and slay them.
Do not forget that this is the show that Shanoff kind of exposed by noting that guys get sheets of talking points, even if they don't agree with them.
I will let you know in 23 1/2 hours.
Any and all things associated with ATH meet with my disapproval.
Odds of me not approving Tony Reali: A big squa-doosh.
/tosses paper ball at computer monitor
Seems like the kind of guy who would hit on your girlfriend the second you left the room if you were hanging out.
Too many white strips.
Aside from Sal Paolantonio, one of the best guineas in the biz. Approve.
Tony Reali: slight approve
Around the Horn: Massive, Kirstie Ally size disapprove
Disapprove. Actually makes me miss Max Kellerman in that role, which I didn't think was possible.
I think he's great on "The Office." I'm worried about his character's developing cocaine habit, however.
Reminds me of the guys at the Jersey shore bars who would chat up the girl you were with when you went to get beers.
Disapprove

I guess we're almost done then?
Tony Reali RTH > Max Kellerman RTH
Approved.

@Gourmet Spud:
I never thought that he looked like him until now.
Awesome. +1
Tony Reali wants to hurt me...
Tony Reali wants to make- me- cry...
(Approve; the only watchable thing on that show)
Approve...but if he's no longer checking facts at tWWL, is anyone?
Reali reads blogs and doesn't appear to be afraid of them. Approve.
Paisan.
Approve.
@Silky John-STON!: Good call.
@Silky John-STON!:
@crazyjoedavola:
You guys hang out together?
Approve for his "Don't take my Deadspin from me", but disapprove because Andie had a crush on him.
Can I ask how a website full of commenters that bash so many media outlets give guys like Reali and Kruk such a free pass on this?
/End rant
I hate the show but not him. Approve.
Something about that Errors segment looks really contrived. It's almost as if they stumble purposely to give him a role. I just find stat boy annoying.
I can't believe he works for ESPiN and is getting 75% approval. I think that speaks to the demographic in here. Old guy? trash/disapprove
Young guy? not bad/ approve
Approve for PTI, disapprove for Around the Horn (not that he's necessarily bad on it, but I can't approve anything related to that show), but one iota more on the approve side for working a Deadspin reference onto ATH.
@Silky John-STON!: Totally agree, and the fact that a couple of girls I dated admitted to having crushes on him doesn't help.
Disapprove.
@HazelMaesLandingStrip:
A free pass on what?
I like Reali. He seems thrilled to have the job he's got without being smug or douchey about it, he takes shots at Wilbon and Kornheiser when appropriate, and, well...I feel that deep down he understands that most of the talking heads on ATH are preening fools. Approve.
the fuck is a Tony Reali?
Also, can I disapprove of having to vote five times before it actually shows up?
Big approve, he slams Mariotti all the time, especially when he brings up his bullshit "classically trained journalist" argument in reference to blogs.
And he's a damn good host of ATH. Only reason I watch the show.
When he took over for Max Kellerman and I think it took me a few shows to realize they changed hosts. Also, did I think of this or did I read it in the Sportsguy's column? I don't even know anymore.
@Billy Clyde Puckett: HEY!
/SU alum
Not to mention they don't call him the stat boy for nothing. The guy knows his stuff, which is more than you can say for most knuckleheads on ESPN.
@Signal to Noise: The show would be a complete train wreck without talking points. It's not like these guys have all this info ready at anytime.
@RachelRayIsTheDevil: It helps when the younger guys are more likely to accept blogs (Don't take my Deadspin). Not many of the older dudes give props. Plus, we like chicks.
Approve. He makes around the horn watchable sometimes. Remember he followed Max Kellerman in that spot.. big shoes to fill. He's done well.
@HazelMaesLandingStrip: Hate the sin, not the sinner
@Windier E. Megatons: some thing happened to me. ESPN pulling strings with Gawker to mess with us.
Approve. Needs a better show than ATH, but he's the only reason that's watchable.
@Get Him A Body Bag, Yeah!: Max Kellerman >>>> Tony Reali
Still approving anyway. Seems like he'd fun to have a beer with and shoot the shit about obnoxious sportswriters who yell for no reason.
@Windier E. Megatons: I thought that was just me.
I got invited to take a tour of Atlantic Video a year or so ago after crashing the PTI/Around The Horn Christmas party. He was the one who gave the tour. Nice guy. Little fella. A face made for low-definition television. Approve.
His head reminds me of the McDonald's Moon Man. Mcdonald's gives me the shits. Disapprove.
@DeepFriar: The sting from the Kruk poll is still lingering, your point is valid.
It was just hard trying to envision Reali without Woody Paige and Jay Mariotti in the equation.
His clowning around is putting me at ease.
I don't wanna sensor assholes anymore
it's much more fun to rip on Kornheiser
checkin' stats for those two old guys
it's time I got back to the good life
/approve
@Nationalcoholic: In-Side In-for-MA-tion... (bloop, bloop, bloop)
Is that an old picture of the Jon Stewart show on MTV?
