Brett Favre Reveals His Preliminary Exit Strategy, Part 94
Even though ESPN is all wrapped up in Pacman troubles right now, they still have to be a little disappointed that Brett Favre won't be participating in their annual retirement-bating this year.
Ed Werder took some time away from dismantling the Cowboys to provide everyone with this quote about El Gunslinger's retirement plans:
I'm an emotional guy, and I'm sure people are tired of seeing me get emotional. People would probably say, 'Oh, here he goes again.' I think it would just be better for me to just thank the Jets, and I sincerely mean that. It was well worth what I invested. But I'm going to just quietly step away if that's what happens.'
Quietly step away....
Did you ever see that episode of "Summer Heights High" when Mr. G quit, but then proceeded to drive around the school all day to see if anyone noticed? I think Favre will do the same thing. The role of the doting science teacher will either be played by Peter King, Ed Werder, or a lucky reporter from the Biloxi Herald.
The most interesting part of this most recent Favre saga is that he's still yet to hold a formal press conference with the New York media. Oh, Chad Pennington? He held one with the New York media today.
