Update: Comcast Sends Hapless PR Rep Into Our Comments Section
What's a worse public relations move than airing 30 seconds of porn during your Super Bowl television broadcast? Dispatching some poor sap into our comments section to apologize for it. That's Comcastic!
Of course you know that several lucky horrified Comcast customers in the Tuscon area were treated to about 30 seconds of a porn film just after Larry Fitzgerald scored a fourth-quarter Super Bowl touchdown. Philadelphia-based Comcast has evidently snapped into full damage control, even going so far as dispatching someone named Frank Eliason into Gawker comment sections with the following :
We are mortified by last evening's Super Bowl interruption, and deeply apologize to our customers for the inappropriate programming. We are aggressively investigating the situation including the possibility of foul play.
Thank you! Frank Eliason Comcast
That's the version that showed up on Deadspin. Over at Gizmodo, the message was signed in the following manner:
Thank you! Frank Eliason Comcast [email protected]
Yep, Comcast decided that it probably wouldn't be a very good idea to provide their email address to Deadspin commenters.
Again, here's a link to what actually got on the air. (Link and video NSFW in every way possible).
Best Deadspin comment so far: "You should have seen the sick shit that they interrupted the Puppy Bowl with."
