Metrodome Roof Collapsed, Just Like The Dreams Of The Vikings Fans It Shelters (Updated With New Picture And Interior Video)
A 20-inch snowstorm damaged a pair of panels on the roof of the Metrodome overnight, so the dome was intentionally deflated this morning.
"You deflate it so you don't lose the entire roof," said Bill Lester, executive director of the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission. "But that's all we're going to talk about until we get some more detail." Roy Terwilliger, president of the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission, said chances were "minimal" that the Vikings will play in dome Monday. Experts were flying in Sunday to look at the damage, he said. WCCO-TV reported that the Vikings had scheduled a press conference for 10 a.m. [ Minnesota Public Radio]
Translation: the fate of the Vikings/Giants game, which was already pushed back from 1 p.m. until Monday night, remains uncertain. [ NJ.com]
No word on potential fantasy impact, either.
