We Are All Dave McKenna XXIII

Here's your daily link to Dave McKenna's brilliant "Cranky Redskins Fan's Guide to Dan Snyder," which we'll be posting until Snyder's dumbass libel suit dissipates like any financial worry No. 23 DeAngelo Hall had when Danny Boy signed him to a six-year, $54 million deal in 2009.

Hall gets today's mention of a trio of reasons, the first of which is the convenience of XXIII = 23.

The second is the contract's impact on franchise-tag salaries: "Historically, the cornerback franchise tag has never exceeded $10 million; in 2011 ... it projects to be $14.6 million. Hall's $18.8 million team salary number led all cornerbacks."

The third involves the franchise's cashlust in the wake of Hall's Pro Bowl MVP performance. Yes, fans were afforded the opportunity to buy $110 jerseys to commemorate the momentous affair.

[T]o slap a "HURRY - QUANTITIES ARE VERY LIMITED!" tag on the bottom? Implying, what, that thousands, or hundreds, or dozens, or more than one Redskins fan is rushing to his computer on the Tuesday morning after the Pro Bowl, attempting to memorialize DeAngelo Hall's trophy moment with a $110 jersey? Whose ad now reads "DeAngelo Hall isn't only a Pro Bowl player — he's the Pro Bowl MVP!"

Yeah. That deserves to be made fun of. [Washington Post]
