NFL Talks Break Down, And Football Seems A Long Way Away

The NFLPA no longer exists. You can check it in the customized 404 message that went up on their website at 5pm.

The union no longer exists after decertifying, faxing the papers at literally the last minute. This allows players to bring suit in the case of a lockout, which becomes our next worst case scenario. This will be spun by the owners as a walkout, since the players can no longer collectively bargain. To that end, talks were broken off. The next step could be in the courthouse.

The Union's last offer was to agree to another extension in talks — essentially no concession — in exchange for 10 years of the league's final documents. No deal.
