ESPN: It's "Inappropriate For Us To Comment" On ESPN Analyst Matthew Barnaby's "Domestic Incident" Arrest
According to a story posted on ESPN.com just after 2:30 p.m. eastern today, ESPN the network declined comment on "ESPN analyst and former NHL veteran" Matthew Barnaby spending the night in jail, as mentioned in a morning post here.
Barnaby was released on his own recognizance after pleading not guilty to felony criminal mischief, criminal contempt, criminal trespass, harassment and aggravated harassment.
At least 14 hours and 40 minutes before the story was posted, an ESPN spokesperson told either ESPN or the AP that, "We just learned of this so it would be inappropriate for us to comment." According to Forbes.com, ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said the network is looking into the situation.
