Plaxico Burress Will Resume His Career In The City That Incarcerated Him
Former Steelers and Giants WR Plaxico Burress has signed a one-year deal with the Jets. Burress did 21 months in prison after he shot himself in the leg at a club, but he wasn't wearing sweatpants.
More, from ESPN:
Forget about Braylon Edwards. Forget about Randy Moss. The New York Jets stayed local, signing former Giants Super Bowl star Plaxico Burress to a one-year contract, the team announced Sunday morning. Burress' deal is worth $3.017 million, fully guaranteed, league sources told ESPN Insider Adam Schefter.
He'll turn 34 in a couple days, but the Jets must imagine he's prison strong, without the wear and tear of the two and a half seasons he's missed. If nothing else, we hope he can be superimposed into reruns of last year's Hard Knocks.
