Kelly Slater Became the Oldest Surfer To Win An Award He Was Already The Youngest To Win
Earlier this week, Kelly Slater became the first person to win 11 ASP World Titles. Presumably the ASP title is fairly prestigious, but the press release doesn't elaborate.
Anyway, Kelly is almost 40 years old yet it seems like only yesterday that he was ripping it up on Baywatch. Undoubtedly he feels the same way since he doesn't "see why at 50 I can't be in better shape than I am now. If anything I'd like to try to represent that to people. I eat well and I talk about it and I walk the walk and it shows in my ability physically."
Gnarly.
