Elsewhere in the vast world of sports this evening, the NBA lockout negotiations once again came to a slow, painful halt after close to 12 hours of meetings. Once union president Derek Fisher got his microphone working, he had this to say:

We can't say there was significant progress today. We'll be back tomorrow ... and we'll see if we can continue to make the efforts at least to finish this out.

All that terrible feedback just to hear, for the umpteenth time, that there's still no deal. The two sides will meet again tomorrow at noon.
