Missouri Football Coach, Once "Kind Of Embarrassed" By Team's DWIs, Is Picked Up For DWI
Missouri football coach Gary Pinkel said today he's "kind of embarrassed" by his team's recent off-field problems.
"We've worked real hard to develop and build a program I think that has a very good reputation of being first class and disciplined," he said. "And we've taken a few hits. The only way you're going to get that back is to earn it back. That's what we intend to do."
Pinkel said those words in August 2010, just after one Mizzou player was arrested for an alleged sexual assault, and two players and one assistant coach were picked up by police in separate incidents for suspected driving while intoxicated, which in the past typically drew a two-game suspension. The above mug shot is of Gary Pinkel, who was picked up and released last night for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
