Barcelona Striker David Villa Snaps Tibia In FIFA Club World Cup Match
Spain's all-time record scorer David Villa will be off the pitch for months after suffering this nasty broken leg during Barcelona's FIFA Club World Cup match against Qatari side Al-Sadd.
Villa's left tibia snapped visibly as he chased down a ball in the 37th minute of Barcelona's 4-0 win. The injury came the same day Villa's name came up in speculation the striker may have been sale bait for EPL squads Chelsea, Liverpool or Aston Villa.
It's unclear if Villa will even be ready to represent Spain in time for Euro 2012, which starts in June. If he isn't fit, the lead striker role for Spain will fall to Fernando Torres, who's currently stinking things up for Chelsea.
