Dwarf Tossing Is All Fun And Games Until Someone Loses The Ability To Walk Unassisted

Martin Henderson, a 37 year-old British man who suffers from dwarfism, was out celebrating his birthday and watching the Rugby World Cup when he was suddenly, and violently tossed by a "hooded thug" while trying to enjoy a smoke outside of the White Horse Pub in Wincanton, Somerset.

Police suspect this is a copy cat situation as it comes on the heels of an incident where "England rugby players were caught 'dwarf throwing' at a bar during a drunken night out" following a win against Argentina in the World Cup.

Mr. Henderson now has lost the strength in his legs and back and requires a wheelchair for longer trips. Life as a Dwarf is not necessarily easy to begin with, he says, but this is something new altogether.

"From what I remember, there was only one person involved but it was very scary as I didn't know what was going on.

"I guess I was an easy target and the only reason I was picked on was because I am small.

"People's attitudes to me when I go out can be pretty cruel. Most are OK but you get the odd idiot who will make fun and start laughing at me.

"You just have to ignore it but this is the first time I have been picked up and thrown about."

Some time later, Henderson began to lose feeling in his legs and was taken to the hospital where he underwent several tests, scans and other medical-sounding procedures. When he was finally released, some friends wanted to meet up again in Wincanton. So, throwing caution to the wind, he ambled his way over on crutches only to be accosted again.

"It was only verbal and I think he was hoping I would hit him with my crutch so he had an excuse to beat me up, there were two other lads in the background.

"I'm sure the two incidents were related as the lad said he knew who I was with when I was attacked the night before - I felt very intimidated, but luckily I got away without any more trouble."

I don't know Martin, I'd quit smoking and drinking if I were you—stuff'll kill you.
