Last week, out of the blue, we received an email with the subject line "Home for Sale."
Do you think Ricky Rubio would like a beautiful home and complete privacy on 75 acres? It's 3888 sq. ft., wooded, ponds and much more. I am asking $487,500 for the home and 20 acres with another 55 acres available. Joe Maurer lives approx. 15-20 miles north of here. We are located just inside Isanti County, between Hwy 65 and Hwy 35.
I must sell due to declining health. I have an abundance of pictures available.
Please let me know – or let me know how I can reach Ricky.
Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? Ricky is still renting, and I can't imagine he wouldn't want to purchase this house. But we weren't ready to clue Rubio in on this offer without first learning a little more about the place.
I don't know if Ricky is ready to buy a home yet, since he's only been in the country for 8 months. But I am sure he would love to see what his options are.
I am not familiar with Isanti County. Ricky has to get to and from downtown Minneapolis most days, often during rush hour, so I don't know if he would want something too far away.
Please send any photos of the residence and property that you have. I'm sure you have a lovely home.
We got this prompt response:
Thanks for your reply. I am going to the Mayo Clinic Thurs. & Fri. so will respond to you this weekend, with pictures.
Oh man. But then, as promised, Sharon came through.
Barry, I hope you get this okay. I'm not real "swift" on sending pics so I sent my husband and myself an email and it seemed to go through okay.

It does not take long to Target Center – about 45 minutes from here. I worked for many years downtown Mpls. at the Main Post Office and then transferred to downtown St. Paul. The mileage is about the same.
Hope these pics get through to you okay. I have many more available.
Well that property looks just lovely. We were almost ready to take the offer to Rubio, but had just one more question.
The photos came through perfectly, and the home looks lovely, Sharon. I hope to pass this along to the right person.
How are the schools around you? Ricky is still a young guy and may not be ready to settle down with a family just yet, but I'm sure it will be on his mind.
Sharon comes through:
I'm sure this is not foremost on Ricky's mind. He has his career to think about first. My only thought is it would provide him the privacy and security that any athlete requires to live a normal life off the floor.
Regarding the school system, it is Cambridge-Isanti District 911. It has a fantastic curriculum and involved in all sports for girls and boys. (You can find info on its website). Both my sons went through the system from K through 12. They were well prepared for college. Both participated in sports and music. There is also a two year college in Cambridge that gives students a head start on college.
I worked in the school system before going to the Postal Service. We feel fortunate to have such a good school system – no problems like the city schools have. There's one large high school, 2 middle schools and 2 elementary schools. There is bus service to all the schools.
Thank you for passing this on to whoever might have an interest.
So there you have it. I can't see any way Ricky wouldn't be interested in this exquisite Bavarian-style house sitting on 75 acres of prime Isanti County real estate. If you are Ricky Rubio or Ricky Rubio's broker, please get in touch with us and we'll get the process started.
