Florida State Erased A Nine-Point Deficit In 70 Seconds To Beat Virginia Tech
Michael Snaer proved the hero again for Florida State tonight, hitting a three-pointer in the final seconds to help the Seminoles beat Virginia Tech 48-47.
Snaer hit the shot from nearly the same spot on the floor from which he hit a buzzer-beating shot to end Duke's home winning streak last month. The catalyst proved to be Hokies freshman Robert Brown, who was designated to take Jarell Eddie's free throws after Eddie was injured on a foul with ten seconds left. Brown missed both free throws, and the Hokies missed a total of seven from the stripe in the final 2:11.
Snaer's three wiped out what had been a 46-37 Virginia Tech lead with 1:13 left in the game. The ACC continues to be a bizarre-zone of college basketball this season, and FSU coach Leonard Hamilton's squad seems to have the most rabbits to pull out of their hats. [ESPN2]
