Peyton Manning Watch: Washington Redskins Out After Huge Pre-Draft Trade
Since Peyton apparently wanted nothing to do with him, it appears Dan Snyder has decided to unburden himself of a few first round draft picks in order to draft Robert Griffin III.
"Under the deal, the Redskins and Rams will swap first-rounders this year, sources said. The Rams also will receive two future first-round picks and a second-round pick, Rams vice president and chief operating officer Kevin Demoff confirmed to The Sports Xchange after the story first broke." The nine parts opinionated, one part informative Gary Myers takes four paragraphs to let us know that since Peyton Manning also decided against visiting with the New York Jets, the team chose to extend Mark Sanchez.
"As soon as the Jets knew they would not get Manning, they finalized the deal with Sanchez. If they had been able to get Manning, then the Sanchez extension goes away. The extension is worth $40.5 million and over the next two years he has $20.5 million guaranteed." [ NY Daily News]
