Alex Smith Used You For Your Beach, Miami
Smith re-signed with the 49ers after they lost out on Peyton Manning, and he couldn't be happier. "This was always the goal to me," Smith said on a conference call, "just to get back here." That's the sort of diplomatic thing you say when you sign anywhere, but was there really a need to kick sand in the face of the Dolphins after you were their only hope and broke their heart (and after their other only hope broke their hearts)?
A reporter asked Smith what he was thinking about his free agent visit to Miami. He responded,
"I'd never been to Miami Beach and I thought it was a good way to go see it."
One day, Dolphins. One day they'll decide to stay.
