When he's not suggesting Lamar Odom be a ball boy, Metta World Peace is sharing the love—even with opposing teams.
With the Lakers up two on New Orleans and 1.2 seconds left in the game, World Peace simply had to inbound the ball somewhere in the frontcourt. Even if the pass was knocked away, the clock would expire and the Lakers could go home with a victory. Instead, World Peace let his giving mood get the best of him and inexplicably passed the ball into the backcourt—where the Hornets' Jason Smith was waiting alongside Matt Barnes, to whom the pass was presumably intended.
World Peace attempted to explain his decision on Twitter:
Easy pass... Jason smith is a poker player.matt played running back. 1.3 seconds. Jason smith cant bend down that far. Keep the ball low.
Keep ballin', Metta.
