Incoming Arkansas Freshman Writes "Sonnet" On What It Means To Be A Razorback
Vin Ascolese is a linebacker recruited from North Jersey, the heartland of American poetry. The All-American hasn't played a snap for Arkansas, but he's all about the Arkansas spirit already. Ascolese recently posted a "sonnet" to his Twitter account, and god damn it is inspiring. (It's also not a sonnet.)
Ascolese later boasted that his poem was "published on some big poetry website," though I think he means this image hosting service. Regardless, he's caught the writing bug. He dashed off a second masterpiece before the weekend was out, called "The Man In The Mirror." It's as stirring as you'd expect from the author of "The Razorback."
