Charlie Villanueva Says He's Not Overweight, Tweets Photo Of His Bathroom Scale
John Calipari is once again coaching the Dominican national team, because he's John Calipari and fuck you. (Also: recruiting.) Olympic qualifying begins in a few weeks, so it's time to make some cuts. First up: one of only three NBA players on the preliminary roster.
Calipari announced that Charlie Villanueva won't be on the squad, despite conflicting reports over whether he even tried out. Villanueva, a big part of the national team in past years, missed most of the Pistons' season with various injuries and is reportedly not in the best shape.
"Charlie was not in good form when we saw him," Calipari told Deportes en la Z. "He was overweight, and unfortunately, we could not slow down the entire team and it was a decision taken collectively. Last year, Charlie behaved really well with us and his only problem was his weight."
Villanueva fired back with the thinspo equivalent of "scoreboard," posting a photo of what he says is his totally accurate bathroom scale reading. "Lol case closed," Villanueva wrote as he displayed a reading only 11.5 pounds higher than his listed playing weight.
