Josh Morgan Talked About Not Being Provoked By Cortland Finnegan Before He Let Cortland Finnegan Provoke Him
The Redskins might have had a chance to tie or even beat the Rams had receiver Josh Morgan not drawn a penalty by throwing a football at Cortland Finnegan toward the end of the game. Morgan should have known better, of course. But he also should have taken his own advice.
Bill Barnwell of Grantland points out that Mark Maske of the Washington Post had listed some keys to stopping Finnegan earlier in the week. And which Redskins player was interviewed for input on Finnegan? Morgan, naturally. Here's what he had to say about Finnegan:
You don't want to be the second guy because the second guy is going to get caught," Morgan said. "He's going to come at you and he's going to be the first, second and third guy. You've got to remind yourself not to be that fourth and fifth guy, and throw your hands up and walk back to the huddle.
Oh, Josh Morgan. If only you had listened to yourself. You could have been a player with a decent five-catch game instead of this guy.
