Last night's debacle in Seattle is prompting national outrage today, with (one assumes) the exception of the state of Washington. To Seahawks fans, the right and proper call was made—and listening to the Seahawks Radio Network on KIRO in Seattle, it's evident their broadcasters helped prompt that response. Give it a listen:
Of course, the far more interesting call comes from WTMJ, the Milwaukee flagship of the Packers Radio Network. Desperation, disbelief, and a flouting of apparent NFL bans on replacement official criticism show up:
It really is amazing how the Seahawks broadcasters never once question the decision, but both booths suffer from an ignorance of NFL rules and procedures. We can't really hold that against broadcasters, though; the officials on the field don't know those rules either.
