Ndamukong Suh Tried To Break Jay Cutler: Detroit-Chicago, In A GIF
Chicago 13, Detroit 7: This unnecessarily vicious hit notwithstanding, the Lions got steamrolled by the Bears, to the extent that a team can get steamrolled in a 13-7 game. It was one of those "defensive battles," I suppose.
Jay Cutler completed half of his passes, and Mathew Stafford was a shade better, but most of his yardage came in garbage time. Cutler's only touchdown was a seven yard toss to Brandon Marshall.
The game all but ended on a Stafford interception on the Chicago five yard line—one of three Detroit turnovers in the red zone—just north of the two-minute warning. It cut short a 12-play, 90-yard drive that ate up almost four minutes of clock. The Lions did get the ball back, with no timeouts, and were able to avoid the shutout with a meaningless touchdown for everyone but rookie Ryan Broyles—it was his first career touchdown. Detroit tried an onside kick but Chicago recovered. The Bears are now 5-1 and the Lions are 2-4.
