Ole Miss's Marshall Henderson Saves The Day With A 35-Foot Buzzer-Beater
Ole Miss's Marshall Henderson, who's on his fourth school in four years, has a pregame routine. After the shootaround, he sets up at half-court and chucks up a few. Before Monday's game at Vanderbilt, he nailed six or seven in a row. When it came down to a 35-foot buzzer-beater to save the Rebels' winning streak, Henderson was more than warmed up.
Ole Miss had to erase a 13-point deficit with under nine minutes left even to get this close, and when Vanderbilt's Kevin Bright made it a three-point game with 3.2 seconds left, the comeback seemed for naught. But Henderson's defender broke away from him to force Ole Miss to pick up the inbounds pass, slipped, and left him wide open. The Rebels would pull away in overtime for the 89-79 win, and remain unbeaten in SEC play.
