Rachel Nichols Needs To Get A New Twitter Handle
Once word got out this afternoon that Rachel Nichols was leaving ESPN for a gig with CNN/Turner, many people took to Twitter to offer Nichols their congratulations. One problem: They were tweeting at the wrong Rachel Nichols.
CNN's Nichols has the Twitter handle of @Rachel__Nichols—there are two underscores, which is admittedly tough to notice. The handle @Rachel_Nichols—with just one underscore—is actually a Twitter account belonging to a woman in the Bay Area who hasn't tweeted in 18 months. A lot of people in the last hour—Peter King, Jason LaCanfora, and even Josh Krulewitz of ESPN PR—initially weren't able to tell the difference.
