Allen Iverson Spotted With His Children, Says He's Not Treated Fairly
Yesterday, it was reported that Allen Iverson's ex-wife, Tawanna Iverson, had accused her former husband of abducting the former couple's five children and keeping them at an Atlanta hotel. And now things have just gotten more confusing.
A reporter from NBC's Atlanta affiliate went to the hotel where Tawanna Iverson claimed her five children were being kept, and spotted Allen Iverson—with the children in tow—in the parking lot. The reporter tried to get a comment from Iverson about his ex-wife's allegations, but Iverson responded cryptically:
"They say I stole my kids? That's what they say?" Iverson said, but he refused to comment further, saying, "If that's what you believe and people think I'm crazy enough to do, then so be it."
"I ain't never treated fairly, don't expect to be," he added before driving away.
So Iverson really is holed up at a hotel with his children, right? Not according to TMZ! The outlet that reported Tawanna Iverson's allegations is now saying that the children were returned to their mother last Wednesday:
But TMZ has learned...Allen appeared in Fulton County court in Georgia last Wednesday and told the judge his ex-wife had full access to their kids during their stay at the hotel...and therefore he wasn't doing anything wrong. We're told Tawanna also testified that she could have picked up the children from Allen but didn't want to drive 45 minutes to his location.
After A.I.'s testimony, the judge decided the former Philadelphia 76ers star didn't deserve to be thrown in jail—despite his ex-wife's request before the hearing. The kids—ranging from ages 3 to 16—were returned to their mother following the hearing.
Yeah, so who knows what the hell is really going on. We hope this means that Iverson has indeed returned the kids to their mother, and was hanging out with them on a legal visitation when he was spotted on Monday.
