Batter Celebrates Game-Tying Home Run Too Early, Flies Out
Don't celebrate your home runs before they come down.
The Korean league's Lotte Giants fell 6-4 to the last-place NC Dinos today, capped off by an embarrassing at-bat for outfielder Jeon Jun-woo. In the ninth inning, with the tying run on, Jeon got ahold of one and was sure he had tied up the game. He did the whole bit—flip the bat, point, strut. The ball was harmlessly caught on the edge of the warning track.
The Dinos bullpen cracked up. Jeon, either because he couldn't believe it or was too busy showboating to notice the ball was caught, stood at first for a while. He was a sad Giant.
