Bob Costas Abandons Broadcast Booth Mid-Inning To Pee
Bob Costas handed over play-by-play to MLB Network commentator John Smoltz in the bottom of the seventh inning tonight at Yankee Stadium, escaping the booth to hit the little boys' room.
Costas was gone for roughly two minutes, after a series of double entendres about the game and his growing need to pee ("trying to get comfortable... moisture building up") and inquiring as to Smoltz's play-by-play abilities. Smoltz did fine, and Costas returned to explain what had happened; he tried to go to the bathroom between innings, but found every stall occupied by a Yankees or Mariners broadcaster.
Next time, we recommend Bob strap on a Stadium Buddy before hitting the broadcast booth.
