The Calgary Flames' Arena Is Flooding Right Now
Downtown Calgary has been flooding for much of today, thanks to heavy rainfall and overflowing rivers throughout southern Alberta. 75,000 residents have been evacuated; some residents elsewhere in the province have seen their homes washed away.
Although it's assuredly no one's chief concern at this point, the Scotiabank Saddledome, the Calgary Flames' home since 1983, has also flooded. The damage is reportedly bad:
BREAKING: Water is up to row 10 at Saddledome. Dressing rooms completely submerged. Jumbotron rm & all equipment destroyed. #yycflood #NHL
