The NFL Went A Calendar Month Without An Arrest For The First Time Since 2009
October is here, which means decorative gourd season, motherfuckers, and the emergence of Mr. Autumn Man, and also a minor milestone for football: Congratulations to each and every NFL player for not getting arrested in September.
Reporter and data analyst Mike Rosenberg noticed the accomplishment, and put it in perspective:
There’s still debate over whether NFL players are more or less likely to be arrested. (Who do you compare them to? Men their age? Men in their income bracket? How do you adjust for race, and background, and for the fact that they didn’t reach their income bracket until very recently?) No matter: September was a month for either staying out of trouble or for getting away with it.
