Angels activate Miguel Sano, move Patrick Sandoval to 60-day IL

The Los Angeles Angels activated veteran infielder Miguel Sano prior to their Tuesday game against the Oakland Athletics in Anaheim, Calif.
Sano last played for the Angels on April 26 before being sidelined due to left knee inflammation.
Sano, 31, wasn't in the starting lineup on Tuesday. He is batting .262 with one homer and five RBIs in 21 games. Sano was an All-Star for the Minnesota Twins in 2017.
The Angels also activated right-hander Chase Silseth (elbow) from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Salt Lake along with infielder Michael Stefanic. In 10 games with the Angels, Stefanic was batting .194 with four RBIs.
Los Angeles also transferred left-hander Patrick Sandoval from the 15-day to the 60-day IL. Sandoval sustained a major arm injury while pitching on Friday during a victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Sandoval tore the ulnar collateral ligament and the flexor tendon in his pitching arm and will require some form of Tommy John surgery. He told reporters that he might not return until 2026.
Sandoval, 27, finishes this season with a 2-8 record and 5.08 ERA in 16 starts.
