This Jokio review takes a detailed look at one of the most interesting platforms I’ve ever come across. Although it looks like a sweepstakes casino site, it’s not – it’s technically a parimutuel betting site involving real money wagers.

Instead of using traditional RNG software to determine the outcome of its animated casino games, Jokio relies on the outcome of horse races. And not virtual ones, either – real equine athletes dictate whether or not your slots spins and roulette bets win or lose. Allow me to explain these unusual mechanics further, before I break down the site’s features.

What is Jokio?

Support Types E-Mail, Live Chat

Jokio describes itself as a “licensed wagering platform” powered by live horse races. It offers 80 casino-style games, most of which are slots, plus a handful of table and arcade games. But how can horse racing power games like roulette?

Well, all of them are animated, as opposed to live dealer games. In a standard online casino, these products use random number generator software to determine results, before showing users a graphical representation of the outcome. But at Jokio, a series of randomly-placed horse racing bets replaces the RNG, instead.

Why Jokio isn’t a sweepstakes casino

Players can deposit real money into a Jokio account, but this isn’t used to gamble on casino games. Instead, you’ll buy a Credits package, just like the virtual currencies found at popular sweepstakes platforms.

Upon purchase, the money spent on Credits is used to place real racing bets, but you don’t get to pick the horses. Jokio does it for you randomly, using the Advanced Deposit Wagering system. The outcome of those events then determines your performance when playing Jokio’s casino-style games.

It’s a highly unusual approach, but ultimately, it’s just switching out the usual RNG mechanism for a different kind.

Bonus and promotions at Jokio

Jokio is a little short on promotions, if I’m totally honest. Unlike sweepstakes casinos, you won’t find a daily login reward, a first purchase bonus or an alternative method of entry. It doesn’t have a loyalty program, either

There is a Jokio bonus for new accounts, though. Well, it’s more of a consolation than a bonus, really – make a net loss in the first 24 hours, and your Credits will be returned. There’s a cap of 100 on this “Creditback” bonus, and anything that’s returned must be wagered 1x before requesting a withdrawal.

The only other bonuses to note are the Monday Boost weekly Credits drops and the friend referral promo.

Where is Jokio available?

You must be physically present in one of 14 US states to register and use Jokio’s services.

✅ Alabama

✅ California

✅ Colorado

✅ Delaware

✅ Florida

✅ Kansas

✅ Louisiana

✅ North Dakota

✅ Nebraska

✅ New Mexico

✅ New York

✅ Oklahoma

✅ Wyoming

Is Jokio legit?

Don’t be put off by the unorthodox mechanics – Jokio is completely legal and above board. In fact, the platform is only set up this way precisely because it makes real money gambling legal in jurisdictions where it wouldn’t otherwise be allowed.

Take California, for instance – a state that doesn’t allow any form of online casino gaming, whether it’s for real money, or using a sweepstakes model. If Jokio’s games were powered by the usual RNG systems, they’d be illegal in the Golden State. But they’re not – you’re technically placing parimutuel bets on horse racing, so it’s all good.

Does Jokio have a license to offer real money gambling?

Yes. Jokio is owned by Vision Derby Ltd, which is registered on the Isle of Man. Although that particular company doesn’t have a license, it operates the Jokio brand in partnership with AmWest Entertainment LLC. And that entity does – from the Oregon Racing Commission.

Because all of the horse racing bets are placed in Oregon, everything is legal and above board. As long as you’re at least 21 years old, anyway – that’s the legal age for placing parimutuel horse racing bets in the Beaver State.

Trust and safety

As a licensed real money gambling operator, Jokio takes player safety seriously. You’ll find a number of responsible gambling tools in your account to help you stay in control, which is always a good sign. These include:

  • Deposit limits. Daily, weekly or monthly, all configurable from within your account.
  • Cooling-off period. Set up a temporary account block for 24 hours up to 30 days.
  • Self-exclusion. A block of at least one to five years, or permanent, if you prefer.

Strict identity verification checks exist to help keep underage gamblers away from Jokio, but also to ensure self-excluded players can’t open new accounts. Until you’ve completed the KYC process, you won’t even be allowed to collect the signup bonus, let alone purchase Credits and play games.

What about the lack of user feedback? If Jokio is legit, why are there so few ratings on sites like Trustpilot or Reddit? Relax – the platform only launched in June 2026, so it’s still very new. I have every confidence you’ll see plenty of positive Jokio reviews appearing online in the coming months.

What games are available to play?

At the time of writing, the Jokio library contains exactly 80 games. However, I expect that to grow in time, given the site is so new.

Remember, there are no live dealer games here, as Jokio’s license hinges on outcomes being determined by horse races. You won’t find keno, scratch cards or crash games, either.

For now, the breakdown is as follows:

Game TypeNumberPopular Examples
Slots76Blazing Bull (Kalamba Games)
Carts Of Cash (Bragg)
Table Games2American Roulette (NetGaming)
Dice (Dragon Gaming)
Other2Plinko Blitz (Dragon Gaming)
Lucky Mega Wheel (Dragon Gaming)

Game suppliers

Five providers contribute games to the library:

  • AmWest Gaming
  • Bragg
  • Dragon Gaming
  • Kalamba Games
  • NetGaming

None of these are top-tier suppliers, but I’m sure you’ll have heard of most, if not all of them. AmWest Gaming was the only name I had to research.

This is the company that’s responsible for Jokio’s unusual parimutuel wagering mechanic – as I mentioned earlier in this review, Jokio operates under AmWest’s license. However, it’s also developed a few slots, and they appear in the Jokio library.

Jokio on mobile

When I compiled this Jokio review, there wasn’t a native app for Android or iOS devices. That’s something I’d really like to see in future, should the site take off.

Still, it’s not to say you can’t use a mobile device to sign up and play, however. Firstly, the website is fully responsive, so whether you’re on a smartphone, tablet or desktop computer, it adjusts itself automatically for optimal display.

Alternatively, you can install a progressive web application (PWA) by clicking the “Install app” link in the main navigation menu. Although PWAs lack some features offered by native apps, the Jokio software is lightweight and speeds up the login process somewhat.

24/7 live support ready to assist

In the event of a problem, the searchable Help Center should be your first port of call. There, you’ll find over 130 FAQs and guides. If they don’t help, you can email [email protected], if you don’t mind waiting, or try live chat for more pressing concerns.

You’ll first deal with the Jokio Assistant bot, but if you ask for a human, you’ll be put right through. Connection times are said to be two minutes, but Lucas picked up my message in around 30 seconds. Among other things, he confirmed that human agents are on hand to help 24 hours a day.

Purchasing and redeeming credits

There’s a limited selection of payment methods at Jokio, as summarized in the table below:

Payment MethodPurchase?Redeem?
Visa
Mastercard
ACH Transfer

To buy Credits, you must first deposit money into your account using a card issued by Visa or Mastercard. All credits feature a 1x playthrough requirement before they can be withdrawn, and you’ll need at least $50 worth to request a payout.

Withdrawals can only be sent via ACH bank transfer, which normally takes between three and five days to complete. Unusually, there’s no upper limit on the amount you can win and withdraw, as confirmed by the live support agent we spoke to.

Credits packages

There are just six packages available for purchase:

  • $10
  • $20
  • $50
  • $100
  • $250
  • $500

The smallest is affordable enough, at just $10. But I’d increase my overall Jokio rating a little if they added more options. As things stand, it’s a little tricky to spend exactly what I want. For example, to wager $30, I must buy 10 Credits followed by a second package of 20 Credits.

Jokio – an innovative wagering platform that combines racing and casino

When I first heard about Jokio, I couldn’t wait to sign up and test it. The idea of horse racing-powered casino games is interesting, so I wanted to see how it worked in practice. And honestly, you wouldn’t know the difference between this and a regular online casino.

There may only be 80 games in the library, but they look and feel just like any other casino site. You place bets, spin reels and roll dice, then see whether or not you’ve won. The parimutuel racing aspect is just a little-known, but perfectly legal, way to provide casino-style games to places where they’d otherwise be banned.

The site would benefit from a few more bonuses, payment methods and games. But then, it’s only just launched, so I expect these to appear in time. They’ve already got the support just right, though – the agents I’ve dealt with were cool, and they all replied extremely quickly.

If you live in any of the 14 jurisdictions where Jokio is legal, join today and see what you think. Click the banners in my guide to visit, open an account and enjoy 24 hours of Creditback protection.
