The Blue Jays closed out their spring with a game at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium on Tuesday, and it ended in the most dramatic fashion: a walk-off home run from Vlad Guerrero Jr., son of the Expos legend. The French broadcast booth lost its mind:

Making the whole thing sweeter was that dad was there filming:

Vlad Jr., who will start the season at Double-A, was wearing his father’s No. 27. It was revealed at the start of the Montreal trip that this wasn’t his request, but a total surprise gesture by the Jays. One Vlad Sr. was grateful for.

Like father, like son:

Yes it was an exhibition game, but it was still the first walk-off homer by a Quebec-born player ever at Olympic Stadium.

Look how the crowd greeted him on Monday:

And just because it’s adorable, here are the Vlads back in the day, via MLB.com:

Montreal loves Vlad Jr., and misses baseball, and it still feels wrong that the city doesn’t have a team, especially compared to a few cities that do.
