It's Better To Fall On A Blocked Punt Than Run 25 Yards In The Wrong Direction
The AP account of Cornell's 31-7 win over Wagner points out that, in addition to 3.5 sacks, Zack Imhoff "also had two forced fumbles and blocked a punt for Cornell." Balls-out game. But that doesn't do justice to a punt block that someone in Wagner gear scooped up and ran away from their desired end-zone.
Here's how tipster Mark P. talked it out: "After a bad snap, blocked punt and a bunch of guys diving for the loose ball, a Wagner player picks up the ball and runs backwards 25 yards, leading to a net loss of 60 yards on the play! -60 yards?! I guess this is why they teach you to fall on bad snaps."
