Laremy Tunsil is expected to be one of the first players selected in tonight’s NFL Draft. Minutes before the draft began in Chicago, his Twitter account posted a video of someone who appears to be Tunsil smoking an unknown substance out of a gas mask.
The tweet has been deleted, but a screencap is below.
The video has previously been shopped around by an unknown individual, and it appears someone with access to Tunsil’s account posted it at the most embarrassing possible moment. His stepfather filed suit against Tunsil yesterday for defamation and assault.
Update (9:10 p.m.): Tunsil’s account was deleted shortly after posting the video, then it was back up, and it’s now down again.
Suzy Kolber spoke with Tunsil’s representation at the draft and his agent said that Tunsil’s account was hacked. They told her:
All the teams know about it, they believe the account was hacked, and this might have been video that was very old, going back to high school
Update (9:25 p.m.): Apparently the video was enough to persuade the Ravens to pass on him at 6 and take him all the way off their board:
Update (9:43 p.m.): Tunsil has finally been drafted by the Miami Dolphins at #13.
We’ll update this post when more information becomes available.
