Jackpocket is enjoying a historic week thanks to the latest Powerball winner who purchased the winning ticket from Arkansas using the lottery courier app.
When this week’s drawing revealed the numbers 2, 17, 18, 38, 62, plus the Powerball (20), the unnamed Jackpocket customer was $250.8 million richer, before taxes. News about the win was confirmed by parent company DraftKings on Wednesday.
The press release noted that this was only the winner’s second order placed using the Jackpocket lottery courier platform.
“We’re thrilled for our customer in Arkansas and amazed that just their second order placed with Jackpocket resulted in a life-changing $250.8 million jackpot — setting a new Jackpocket record,” Pete Sullivan, SVP, Lottery at DraftKings. “This historic win underscores our commitment to delivering a best-in-class, secure, and seamless lottery experience for our customers.”
Monday’s win is the largest prize ever won from a ticket ordered via the Jackpocket platform. With the latest win, there have now been 80 prizes of at least $1 million using the app.
Jackpocket has been around since 2013. After customers complete their transaction using the app, the company buys the actual lottery ticket from an official lottery retailer. With the latest winner, for example, the ticket was purchased at Winner’s Corner, an authorized and licensed retailer in Little Rock.
Executive Director Sharon Strong said the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery is “proud to celebrate this $250.8 million win alongside our retail partner, Jackpocket.”
“Through our collaboration, we have been able to provide Arkansans with more convenient ways to play lottery games, now leading to this historic moment. We look forward to celebrating even more wins, both big and small, as we raise proceeds to benefit our students and our state,” Strong said.
Earlier this week, DraftKings outlined its expanded growth strategy that includes plans to launch its Super App, DraftKings Sports & Casino. Besides being able to enjoy March Madness betting and live dealer blackjack, users will be able to purchase lottery tickets.
Jackpocket was acquired by DraftKings in 2024 for $750 million.
The company stated in the press release that Super App customers will enjoy a seamless integrated experience through a single account and wallet. Additionally, access will be tailored to each jurisdiction.
Phase one of the integration is expected by later this month, just in time for March Madness.
The company said “The Super App will leverage DraftKings’ experience and infrastructure operating the No. 1-rated sportsbook to offer a unified sports experience, available nationwide.”.
