With the September 12 application deadline of the Missouri Gaming Commission (MGC) approaching, the sportsbook scene in Missouri is rapidly taking shape. Several prominent operators will establish a presence in the Show-Me State at launch on December 1, 2025.
Here’s a look at the sportsbooks that have either submitted an application or been granted a license to enter the Missouri market:
| Operator | Partner | Status |
|---|---|---|
| DraftKings | Untethered License | Confirmed for launch |
| Circa | Untethered License | Confirmed for launch |
| FanDuel | St. Louis City SC (MLS) | Confirmed for launch |
| bet365 | St. Louis Cardinals (MLB) | Confirmed for launch |
| BetMGM | Century Casinos | Confirmed for launch |
| Fanatics | TBD | Applied for license |
| Underdog | TBD | Applied for license |
| Caesars | TBD | Applied for license |
| ESPN BET | TBD | Applied for license |
Prominent Missouri sports teams like the Kansas City Royals (MLB), Kansas City Chiefs (NFL), and St. Louis Blues (NHL) are still available for partnerships.
Bettors can expect to see a retail sportsbook near Busch Stadium, so Missouri bettors can place a wager at bet365 when going to Cardinals games.
DraftKings and Circa were granted an untethered license, which means that they don’t have to partner with a sports team or retail casino, saving them money in partnership fees.
With only two untethered licenses available, many expected them to go to DraftKings and FanDuel, since these two operators have the largest market shares in the country. That’s why it was surprising to see Circa granted this license.
The MGC determined that the way Circa caters to the needs of sharp bettors could potentially expand Missouri consumers, which is one of the reasons the operator was chosen over FanDuel, even though the latter could generate more revenue.
Circa is only available in Nevada, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, and Kentucky, so Missouri bettors will be among the few to have a chance to place a wager at a highly regarded sportsbook.
Circa is an operator that carries a strong reputation because it doesn’t limit successful sports bettors. While other sites often lower a user’s maximum stake if they win too much, this isn’t the case at Circa. High-stakes players prefer Circa because they can bet larger limits on most betting markets there.
Additionally, Circa posts lines earlier than other operators, acting as a market maker for the rest of the industry. In other words, other sportsbooks see the lines that Circa posts and often use it as a baseline for their own odds.
With that said, the one drawback for users is that there is no welcome bonus at Circa. It will be interesting to see if this policy changes as they prepare to launch in a new state.
