Vasgersian is slated to handle play-by-play for the streamer's Opening Night showcase when the New York Yankees visit the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park on March 25. It's the first MLB regular-season game Netflix will carry live, and Vasgersian is expected to remain the lead announcer across Netflix's MLB event slate this season.
Netflix's broadcast team will lean heavily on baseball names alongside its new in-house host. Elle Duncan will anchor the coverage, with Albert Pujols and Anthony Rizzo on the desk, while the booth pairs Vasgersian with CC Sabathia and Hunter Pence. Lauren Shehadi will work as the on-field reporter.
For Vasgersian, it's another prominent assignment. He'll remain as a long-time fixture on MLB Network while also appearing on NBC's Opening Day coverage on March 26, for the Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Mets game at Citi Field. He will then join Peacock's "MLB Sunday Leadoff" broadcast team when those games start in May. NBC's new "Sunday Night Baseball" will be called by Jason Benetti, with local analysts rotating for all NBC/Peacock games based on the matchup.
