Maxim Lapierre Hits Dan Boyle From Behind, Seriously Injuring Him
Dan Boyle of the San Jose Sharks was stretchered off of the ice after Maxim Lapierre savagely hit him from behind during tonight's Blues-Sharks game.
As the replay shows, Lapierre boarded Boyle, causing Boyle's head to hit the lip of the boards. Boyle was motionless on the ice after being hit, and had to be removed on a stretcher.
Lapierre was penalized with two five-minute majors—boarding Boyle and fighting Andrew Desjardins—and a game misconduct.
