The Thursday MLB card highlights the two LCS contests, including the National League heading out west.

The Milwaukee Brewers visit the Los Angeles Dodgers, looking to break through after losing the first two games at home. The ALCS continues in Seattle as the Mariners try to bounce back in Game 4 after getting blown out by the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

We’ll break down two plays for the Thursday action. Remember to monitor the odds throughout the day, as the props and totals market is constantly changing.

Here are the free MLB playoff picks for Thursday, October 16.

Best MLB Playoff bets October 16th

  • Tyler Glasnow Under 5.5 Strikeouts (+115)
  • Blue Jays (+114) at Mariners

Tyler Glasnow Under 5.5 Strikeouts (+115 at DraftKings)

The Dodgers have dominated on the mound through the first two games of the NLCS. Blake Snell struck out 10 batters in Game 1 and Yoshinobu Yamamoto posted seven strikeouts in Game 2.

Now, it’s Glasnow’s turn back at Dodger Stadium, as the right-hander struck out five and six batters in his two starts against the Brewers this season.

Although Milwaukee is playing just its third road game of the playoffs, both opposing starters in the Chicago series didn’t last past the fifth inning.

Glasnow has eclipsed six strikeouts in four straight home starts, including 8 Ks against the Phillies in the walk-off win of the NLCS.

L.A.’s bullpen is well-rested following the first two games as Glasnow won’t be needed to go deep into the game.

Blue Jays (+114 at DraftKings) at Mariners

Seattle jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in Game 3 behind a Julio Rodriguez home run in the first inning. It all went downhill from there as Toronto scored five runs in the third inning and rolled to a 13-4 victory.

Now that the Blue Jays have some life, they’ll turn to veteran right-hander Max Scherzer for his first appearance this postseason. Scherzer hasn’t pitched since September 24 against Boston, when he allowed 10 hits and four runs in a 7-1 defeat.

He faces a Seattle lineup that hasn’t exactly blown up at home in the playoffs, scoring a total of 12 runs in 43 innings.

Luis Castillo hasn’t started since the Game 2 victory over Detroit in the ALDS on October 5. He pitched in relief in the Game 5 marathon against the Tigers, so we’ll see how much that affects rhythm going into tonight.

Toronto is 2-1 in the playoffs on the road with the lone loss coming in Game 3 of the ALDS against New York, blowing a 6-1 lead.

Although Scherzer is near the end of the line, let’s see if he can ride the momentum of last night’s victory and help Toronto tie the ALCS up at 2-2.
