MLS Keeper Nick Rimando's Fucked-Up Finger Is A Good Party Trick

Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando shared an Instagram photo of his hand yesterday, and his pinkie looked like it’s trying to get away from the rest of his hand. You were warned:

It’s not uncommon for athletes, especially keepers, to have bent fingers, but I wanted to know if Rimando had done this recently. (He didn’t play in RSL’s match on Sunday.) A club spokesperson told me that Rimando likely intentionally popped his finger out for the photo. It seems that the keeper can manipulate it as he desires. His pinkie looks normal in other photos:

There’s a lot of potential for practical jokes with that digit.
