For the last few weeks now I’ve been testing mystery box sites, and my most recent brand is GOATbox which offers a massive range of different products including sports, TCG, and fashion boxes to rip.
I’ll detail all my thoughts and findings in the GOATbox review below, but my first impressions were pretty good, as I saw the site offers a welcome bonus where you can open 9 free boxes, and it also allows you to choose different intensity ratings for your mystery boxes so you can change your risk factor.
Before I start buying and ripping mystery boxes, I HAVE to personally make sure the brand is legit without relying on other GOATbox reviews, and that they give you full transparency on things like the box contents and percentage chances of ripping different items. I’m happy GOATbox does this, but you can see more detailed info below on things like security and their credit system.
GOATbox is available across the US, and I had no concerns about the transparency of the mystery box system. Additionally, the brand is owned and operated by Secret Service Limited.
Instead of direct mystery box purchases, you have to buy credits at GOATbox, and these are what you use to purchase items with. To be fair, they do have a range of credit packages, and most of them have some type of discount, up to a max of 50%. I tested the purchase process, and I was able to use Apple Pay, Google Pay, Visa, MasterCard, or a range of cryptocurrencies.

At the moment, when I wrote this GOATbox review, there was only email support and an FAQ section – it’s pretty sparse in terms of actually speaking to someone, and this is certainly an area for improvement. I sent a few support emails, and I got a reply within 24 hours, which again, isn’t amazing.

The site uses SSL encryption for all data transfers, and I also noticed that they have a verification process when you sign up. On top of that, there’s a privacy policy, AML policy, and general terms of service, so I was confident that my personal info is being used properly.
So, I’d made sure the brand was legit, now it was time to dive into the actual mystery boxes and see if they were any good. Now, a lot of this is personal preference and what I like could be completely different to your tastes, so please bear that in mind. Regardless, I’ll try to stay objective and give a general overview.
I will admit that I was a little overwhelmed by the sheer amount of different mystery boxes this site offers – there’s loads, including the following categories:
Now, personally, I didn’t care about 95% of the mystery boxes – not because they weren’t any good, but more because I do not want any of the items they contain. However, I DID like the TCG boxes, especially the Pokemon Legends box for 17.90 Credits, which contained some of the following drops:
There’s some pretty good packs in there for card collectors, but I also think that regardless of what your hobbies and interests are, you should be able to find packs to suit, and I’ve given some examples of the other categories, box names, and minimum credit costs below:
| Box Category | Example Boxes | Minimum Credit Cost |
|---|---|---|
| TCG Boosters | MTG Marvel, Pokemon Legends, One Piece Boost, MTG Vintage | 0.61 |
| Gaming | RAM Rush, PC Bundle, CPU Core, Pixel Gamer | 0.45 |
| Sneakers | Nike Jordan, Sneaker Storm, Fresh Kicks, Adidas Originals | 0.61 |
| Beauty | Viral Beauty, Rare Beauty Starter | 0.62 |
| Luxury | Dior Luxury, Bling Box, Lunar Luxury, $10 Time Piece | 1.05 |
I thought the actual box opening process was pretty smooth as you get a 9×9 grid, and you can click plus icons on each of the grid tiles to add more of the same mystery box to your order. This means that you can potentially open 9 mystery boxes at once and the credit cost underneath will change to reflect that.
Once you’ve made your selection, there’s a simple slot reel-style animation for each of the active tiles – they will eventually stop spinning and reveal your pull. At this point, the controls at the bottom will change, and you will either be able to keep or sell them. It’s a FINE process – not the smoothest or flashiest I’ve seen, but interesting enough to make the mystery boxes enjoyable.
When you open a mystery box and pull and item, you can either:
Firstly, if you DON’T want the item, you can sell it back to GOATbox for the value shown on the control panel – any sale that you process will be added to your account as credits, not a cash balance.
Secondly, if you DO want the item, you can choose to keep it and it will be stored as a digital item in your collection which you can access from your profile. At any time if you want a stored item, you can choose to have it delivered to an address of your choice. There will be shipping costs, but these will vary depending on the item and your location.

Something else I look for when reviewing mystery box sites is the usability – I want to be able to browse the products quickly, and I expect full transparency of the potential pulls inside and I think that GOATbox generally does this. Each box has a clear currency cost, an intensity rating which relates to the risk-factor, and you also get a full list of all the potential pulls, PLUS a percentage chance.
Essentially, they offer full transparency for what you might get from each rip and this made me feel much better about the legitimacy of the brand. However, I do think there’s A LOT going off on the site, and they could do a better job of organizing the mystery boxes – some of the pages feel messy because of the sheer volume of different items on them and I think they could streamline things a little more.
Once I’d finished checking out the desktop website, I tested the mobile browser version of the site as there aren’t any mobile apps – it also works great and you basically get the same layout and features, but in a more condensed layout that’s suitable for your smaller smartphone screen.
I wasn’t expecting much in terms of promotions here, but I was pleasantly surprised! This site does have a welcome offer, and there’s a few other promotional features worth mentioning too.
As soon as I loaded the site for the first time, I saw the GOATbox bonus of 9 free boxes as welcome offer – I thought it was a joke, but it’s not – if you use the banners we’ve got on this page and sign up, you will indeed be able to open 9 free mystery boxes. There’s a selection of free boxes to choose from, and I went for the MTG free box which gives you the chance of pulling MTG booster packs.
Sadly, I did NOT get any, but I got the following from my pulls:
I know it’s not a massive amount, but there’s always the chance that you will beat the percentages and get better pulls than I did. Regardless, I was happy with my bonus, and I put it towards ripping some more TCG boxes.
I was happy with the signup offer, but once I’d opened my 9 free boxes, I looked at the rewards section of the site and found the following:
The daily streak feature was pretty interesting – this activates once you’ve made a credit purchase, and then you make purchases for multiple days in a row, you can unlock free boxes and other perks.
For me, this GOATbox review was a mixed affair. On the one hand, I think the variety of the mystery boxes, the transparency, odds, and shipping process are all great, and it gives you a fun ripping experience. However, on the other hand, the site does still feel really basic and like it’s missing some features and design elements, and I think it needs more polish.
Still, it’s definitely worth a try, especially if you want Pokemon, One Piece, or MTG booster packs, so if you want to get signed up, just click any of the banners we have on this page today!
Yes! If I wanted them, I was able to get the items shipped to an address of my choosing. You don’t have to keep the items though and they do have a buyback offer.
My personal favorites were the TCG boxes which included Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, and Once Piece booster packs. It all depends on what you want from the experience though, and if there are any particular products you are looking for.
Yes. Although the website is a little sparse on general information and it feels barebones, I was happy with the transparency of the boxes and the shipping service they offer.
