The team said Wednesday that there is no recovery timeline yet for Parks, who had similar procedures in 2021 and 2022.
"Keaton's health and well being is our priority. The decision to have surgery to address this issue is best for Keaton's health both now and long-term," NYCFC sporting director David Lee said. "... Keaton has been an important player for us this season, and it's disappointing to lose a player of his caliber in the middle of the campaign.
"Our medical team has engaged with several world-leading experts in vascular health, ensuring that Keaton is receiving the best medical advice in addressing the current issues and moving forward."
Parks, 27, has recorded one goal and two assists in 14 MLS matches (10 starts) this season, his seventh with NYCFC. He has 15 goals and six assists in 172 career matches (144 starts) and helped the club win the MLS Cup in 2021 and the Campeones Cup in 2022.
Parks is under contract with New York City through 2026 with team options for 2027 and 2028.
