OpTic Texas (8-0) keeps unblemished streak at CDL Stage 2 Major qualifying

OpTic Texas remains the only undefeated team at 8-0, while the Miami Heretics pulled off an impressive victory in qualifying for the Call of Duty League Stage 2 Major as Week 4 concluded on Sunday.

Toronto KOI and the Vancouver Surge also won in the day's other matches.

The 12 Call of Duty League teams are playing a full qualifying round robin to determine seeding for the second major of the season, to be held March 27-29 in Marston Green, England, as part of the DreamHack Birmingham event.

The top six teams in qualifying head straight into the Stage 2 Major playoffs, while the teams in seventh through 10th place will compete in a play-in round.

The Stage 2 Major champion will receive $150,000 and 100 Call of Duty League points, while the runner-up will get $90,000 and 75 CDL points.

On Sunday, the Miami Heretics went the distance with the Los Angeles Thieves, who rallied from down 2-0 to force a fifth map. The Heretics opened with a 250-195 win on Den Hardpoint and 6-5 decision on Colossus Search & Destroy. The Thieves came back with wins on Scar Overload (3-1) and Exposure Hardpoint (250-184) before Miami took Exposure Search & Destroy 6-2.

Match MVP David "RenKoR" Isern of Spain paced the Heretics with 95 kills for a plus-14 kill-death differential, while Jeremiah "Nium" Harrison of the United States led the Thieves with a 100-80 K-D differential.

Toronto KOI crushed Boston Breach, winning 250-144 on Scar Hardpoint, 6-3 on Raid Search & Destroy and 8-0 on Den Overload.

Match MVP Jamie "Insight" Craven of the United Kingdom boasted a 72-35 K-D differential for Toronto. No Breach player had a positive K-D differential.

OpTic Texas rebounded from a 250-233 setback on Blackheart Hardpoint to defeat the Carolina Royal Ravens. Texas won 6-4 on Den Search & Destroy, 5-2 on Den Overload and 250-192 on Colossus Hardpoint.

Match MVP Cuyler "Huke" Garland of the United States had 111 kills and a plus-19 K-D for OpTic, while Kaden "Exceed" Stockdale of the United States paced Carolina with a 91 kills to 84 deaths.

The Vancouver Surge started fast and took care of the Paris Gentle Mates. The Surge won 250-214 on Scar Hardpoint and 6-3 on Colossus Search & Destroy. Paris stayed alive with a 3-2 victory on Scar Overload before Vancouver closed out the match with a 250-134 win on Den Hardpoint.

Match MVP Isaiah "Gwinn" Gwinn of the United States posted a plus-37 K-D with 115 kills. Daunte "Sib" Gray of the United States led Paris with 96 kills and a plus-13 K-D differential.
