A video showing Diggs handling an unknown powder-like substance while partying on a yacht with three bikini-clad women in Miami over the weekend has made the rounds on social media. Diggs reportedly has been romantically linked to rapper Cardi B, who was present on the yacht.
Patriots new head coach Mike Vrabel addressed the matter to begin his press conference on Wednesday.
"It's something that we're aware of and obviously we want to make great decisions on and off the field," Vrabel said on Wednesday prior to voluntary OTAs at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
"We're hoping that with our time here on the field today, and that when we don't have a script, and we're on the call-out periods that we're making great decisions. So the message will be the same for all our players that we're trying to make great decisions. Any conversations that I've had with Stefon will remain between him and I and the club."
Signed to a three-year, $69 million contract, Diggs was not present for Wednesday's practice. He is rehabilitating a torn ACL sustained last October while playing for the Houston Texans.
"The timelines, and the prognosis, we're working hard to get him back and be ready to go. When he's here, we'll coach him and have him ready to go," Vrabel said.
Diggs, 31, is a two-time All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowl selection. Since entering the league in 2015, he is third in receptions (857), trailing only Travis Kelce (939) and Davante Adams (919). From 2018-23, he posted six consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.
Diggs had 107 receptions for 1,183 yards and eight touchdowns for the Buffalo Bills in 2023. He was traded to the Texans last offseason and got off to a fast start with 47 receptions for 496 yards and three touchdowns in eight games before being injured.
The dynamic wideout is expected to give young quarterback Drake Maye a reliable No. 1 target and improve the New England offense, which finished last in passing yards last season (2,995).
