Interactive Brokers is a respectable trading platform that primarily deals with futures, commodities, as well as stocks and shares trading, but it has recently launched its prediction market trading exchange to the US audience.
This has led me to create a complete Interactive Brokers review, and I’ve spent the last few weeks testing the site, looking at its prediction markets, and seeing what it offers for the average US trader. My first impressions were positive due to the impressive site design, but you can learn more if you read on below.
Similar to how I did in my recent Moomoo review, I did a quick scan of the bonuses at Interactive Brokers, and while they are described in detail in my Interactive Brokers bonus review, I’ll give you a quick recap here.
When I created my Interactive Brokers login, I actually received a $10 trading bonus. This is literally all you have to do– sign up, verify your account, and complete the KYC process, and IBKR will give you $10 account credit to use on any prediction markets. You can either use this bonus to make trades, or from my understanding, you can withdraw it instantly if you wish.
I know that it’s not exactly a huge bonus, but still, there’s no initial investment required from you, and it gives you a nice trading bonus if you wish. I think it’s one of the better signup bonuses you will find at prediction trading exchanges.
The other main promotional feature I found at Interactive Brokers was incredibly interesting, and it’s not really something I’ve seen at many other sites except perhaps Kalshi and Polymarket. On ALL of your held trade contract positions (i.e. trade contracts that you are holding to settle, or simply have active in your account), you accrue daily interest at the rate of 3.12% APY.
I love this feature as it gives customers an incentive to hold their positions and perhaps invest in more long term predictions. For instance, you could perhaps buy trade contracts for a prediction that won’t settle until the end of the year, and simply hold the trade contracts to accrue interest until the event happens.
In my Coinbase review I started by looking at the legitimacy of the brand, so I’m going to do the same with Interactive Brokers. I already knew a little about it, so I was pretty confident going in, but still, I looked at features like regulations, support, and security.
Interactive Brokers LLC is the company behind the predictions. It is registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and an affiliate of ForecastEx LLC which is a CFTC-registered Designated Contract Market and Derivatives Clearing Organization. This basically means that the site is legit, and that it can legally offer its prediction trading services in the US.
I couldn’t initially find the customer support, and I never really found anything other than the help center. However, the help center is easily one of the most detailed I’ve ever seen. It has a massive range of categories, and it’s fully searchable too with the help of AI search features. I actually used this to find info on things like the trading fees and payment methods.
Security and KYC processes are all spot on here, and I never felt unsafe. To get fully onboard with Interactive Brokers, you have to go through a full KYC check which involves uploading ID documents, plus doing other verification like email and/or SMS. Everything just felt really professional– it’s hard to explain, but as soon as I started the signup process I was confident I was in good hands.
Payment methods for deposits and withdrawals will vary depending on the individual account. For example, I was able to see a few methods like Bank Transfer and debit card, but similar to what I found in my DraftKings Predict review, you might see a completely different set of payment methods. From my experience though, the processing times for both deposits and withdrawals were fast, and I had no issues with buying and selling trade contracts.
A major benefit of Interactive Brokers that I found is that it features prediction markets from three other sources– Kalshi, ForecastEx, and CME Group. This means that it has an impressive range of predictions, and can draw from these sources to keep its prediction offering fresh and varied. Similar to what I found in my Sleeper Markets review, IBKR offers the following categories:
It’s not like one of these categories takes precedence either– I browsed all of the different sections, and even the environmental category which I usually find to be underutilised, was packed with predictions relating to natural events, temperatures, and even vaccines and medicine. I really felt like they have done a great job of creating a curated set of predictions with a specific type of trader in mind.
I also want to point out that they have said that there will be NO sports predictions, but I’m OK with that– I think there are already some top sports-centric prediction exchanges anyway.
Another huge benefit is that because the predictions are sourced from third-party exchanges, you also get the relevant trade volume and liquidity to go with it. For example, there was a prediction on who would be the next Democratic US Presidential Candidate, and this had a staggering trade volume of $66.4 million.
To give you an idea of what you can expect, I’ve listed some of the live predictions that were active when I created this guide:
| Prediction | Yes | No |
| Will the SAVE Act become law? | 9c | 91c |
| US grants license for new nuclear reactor | 15c | 85c |
| NASA lands on the Moon before 2027 | 1.7c | 98c |
| US highest gas price yearly (Above $4.6) | 62c | 41c |
One of the main things that impressed me while producing this Interactive Brokers review was the style, design, and usability of their website. There are also mobile apps, but I wasn’t 100% sure if they could be used for trading or not.
I’ve tested a load of different prediction exchanges, and Interactive Brokers is by far my favorite site design. It just smacks of professionalism and I love the clean, uncluttered, and minimalistic style they have chosen. I think they’ve tried to distinguish themselves via their site design, to appeal to actual traders and investors, and it certainly creates a strong impression.
The usability is there, too. The predictions are organized into logical categories, and I like how they’ve chosen to display the individual predictions, together with clear Yes/No trade contract prices. The only minor improvement I’d like to see is the fact that some of the predictions are not listed as actual categories. For example, there are cryptocurrency predictions, but you have to manually search to find them.
There is a Google Play and App Store app for IBKR Global Trader, but I was not able to download this to check to see if it included the prediction markets section of their offering. It does have decent reviews from the relevant stores though. Since I couldn’t download the app, I checked out the responsive browser version of the mobile site and this worked perfectly too.
After completing my Interactive Brokers review, I can confidently say that I am a fan of what they have created. It just feels really professional, well thought out, and intuitive. I love the site design– I am impressed with the diverse selection of predictions they offer and the relevant trading volume, and I think they’ve also done a great job with the signup bonus and recurring APY interest feature.
It’s worth noting that there are no sports predictions, but I wasn’t too bothered about that, and I think the superb range of political and economical markets more than made up for this. You’ve also got the benefit of the excellent security, KYC process, and advanced help center to enhance your trading experience. It gets my seal of approval, but if you want to sign up yourself, you can use any of the banners I’ve got featured on this page.
Yes. This is a CFTC-regulated exchange that provides prediction markets via other regulated sources like Kalshi.
Trading fees typically start from $0.01 per trade contract but can vary depending on the market and other factors.
Yes. If you use our banners, register a new account, and verify your ID, you can get a $10 trading bonus.
Because it uses predictions from other sources, Interactive Brokers actually enjoys a superb trade volume which helps with your trade contract liquidity.
