Key Points
  • The prediction hub for financial markets on Kalshi is now sponsored by CNBC.
  • Traders can view the most popular trending markets via the hub’s landing page.
  • Pre-IPO forecasts, quarterly earnings, and potential human voyages to Mars are included.

On Friday, Kalshi introduced its CNBC Financial Markets Forecasts Hub, a dedicated layout that displays trending markets for account holders on the platform. The page is part of an ongoing partnership between the major news outlet and the regulated prediction market exchange that adds a user-friendly feature page with odds on the most popular corporate-related markets.

“Launching today: a dedicated CNBC page on Kalshi’s site, with curated financial and economic markets tied to today’s news,” reads an official social media post. This is “part of Kalshi’s partnership with CNBC.”

What info does the CNBC-Kalshi Financial Market Forecasts Hub contain?

A Monday morning check of the dedicated webpage shows the following Kalshi markets:

  • An IPO market on when OpenAI will officially announce its intentions to go public
  • A Space market on whether human launches to Mars before 2030 will occur
  • A Tech & Science market on when Anthropic will restore access to Fable 5 in the US

The OpenAI pre-IPO market is listed above the other two featured markets. It displays a one-sentence news summary with a Read more on CNBC clickable/tappable link immediately underneath. The same format is used for the Tech & Science and Space category entries, with overall trading volume prominently shown within each market’s section.

Recently, our own legal/regulatory coverage of prediction markets has focused heavily on commentary that’s published by two major media news outlets: CNBC and Fox Business. Viewers who regularly tune in to Squawk Box on CNBC and Mornings with Maria on Fox Business are likely to see timely news coverage and commentary related to legal and regulatory updates concerning Kalshi and other prediction market exchanges.

Moreover, the coverage provided specifically by those two media outlets drives home the stances of different interests who have entered the continuing legal battles over prediction markets. Kalshi is a prediction exchange regulated by the CFTC, and states, along with tribal gaming interests, are suing to enforce their own gambling laws on event contracts tied to sports, elections, and entertainment awards outcomes. Coinbase is a crypto exchange that is intensely lobbying for passage of the CLARITY Act, while traditional banks such as JPMorgan Chase are advocating, with similar intensity, for the language in the proposed legislation to be changed.

Currently, the CLARITY Act is awaiting a full floor vote in the United States Senate. The legal debate over the categorization of prediction markets is playing out across state and federal courts nationwide, and is expected to be heard by the Supreme Court at some point in 2027 or 2028.

New Prediction Market Forecasts Hub is part of a 2025 partnership deal

Kalshi’s new feature is part of a December 2025 deal between the prediction exchange and CNBC that allows the network to display Kalshi content across its public and premium subscription platforms. The prediction market content is most heavily featured on the aforementioned Squawk Box program, hosted by Andrew Ross Sorkin, Becky Quick, and Joe Kernen, and the Fast Money show, anchored by Melissa Lee.

It is unknown at this time if/how the new CNBC Prediction Market Forecasts Hub on Kalshi will evolve, or whether it will display more markets on its primary webpage. Polymarket’s international exchange, which is technically unavailable to US customers, has its own media rights agreement with Yahoo! Finance.
