New York Mets celebrate a walk off single by shortstop Francisco Lindor to defeat Washington Nationals

The New York Mets (58-70) have quietly played very well lately, going 11-4 in their last 15 games. We just saw them take two of three against a red-hot San Diego Padres team. They’ll look to keep it rolling against the Chicago White Sox (66-61).

The White Sox have stumbled a bit recently, losing three of their last four games. They’ve gone ice-cold at the plate, combining for only six runs in their last three. They’ll try to bounce back against left-hander Sean Manaea. But is there enough value to take the White Sox at  MLB prediction markets? Let’s dive in.

Mets v White Sox Picks

The White Sox are priced at 58 cents to win this game for three reasons. For one, they have a much better record at 66-61 vs. 58-70. Additionally, they have home-field advantage. On top of that, starting pitcher Sean Burke has been their ace this season.

With that said, it feels like the Mets are being undervalued right now. They’re quietly one of the hottest teams in MLB, winning 11 of their last 15 games. Starting pitcher Sean Manaea has been excellent in his last five starts, putting up a 2.87 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP with a 25.0% strikeout rate and an 8.6% walk rate.

While Burke has been fantastic for the White Sox, he’s hit a bit of a wall lately, failing to pitch five innings in two of his last three starts. Perhaps this is the case of a breakout pitcher who is starting to get a bit gassed due to the heavy workload over a long season.

Expert Pick

I’m taking the Mets to win at 43 cents. They have been one of the most disappointing teams in MLB, but they’re finally playing like they were expected to. Rookie Carson Benge is having a terrific season, while both Francisco Lindor and Bo Bichette are finally starting to get it going at the plate.

Kodai Senga has shored up the bullpen by becoming the new closer, while Manaea has been a dependable innings-eater for them, going at least six innings in six of his last seven starts. It’s also worth noting that the White Sox played yesterday, while the Mets had the day off. To that end, we’ll take the Mets to pull off the upset here.

Mets vs White Sox Latest News

Mets’ superstar Juan Soto remains out of the lineup, but he still plans to return this season.

Veteran infielder Jorge Polanco is out for the season for the Mets.

The White Sox have been pretty mediocre lately, going 8-10 in their last 18 games.

Mets vs White Sox Market Movement

We haven’t seen much market movement in this game. The White Sox have mostly been around 58 cents to win this game. This makes sense because you have to dig a bit deeper to find out how much better the Mets have been playing lately. Coming in at top form, the Mets look like live underdogs in this matchup.
