Raptors beat 76ers in OT on Scottie Barnes' last-second free throw

Scottie Barnes made the game-winning free throw in the final second of overtime Sunday night and the Toronto Raptors defeated the visiting Philadelphia 76ers 116-115.

Philadelphia took a four-point lead in overtime before Toronto rallied with a 7-0 run. Collin Murray-Boyles dunk put the Raptors ahead by three with 35 seconds to go, but VJ Edgecombe's 3-pointer tied the game at 115 with 16 seconds left before Barnes got to the line.

Barnes had 31 points for the Raptors, who have won four of five. Jamal Shead added 22 points and made the shot to force overtime for the Raptors in the opener of a two-game set with the 76ers.

Immanuel Quickley added 20 points while Murray-Boyles had 17 points, 15 rebounds, three blocks and three steals.

Tyrese Maxey scored 38 points for the 76ers, who trail 2-1 in the season series with the Raptors. They had won their two previous games entering the back-to-back at Toronto.

Edgecombe scored 17 points and Kelly Oubre Jr. added 13 points, three blocked shots and four steals for the 76ers. Dominick Barlow had 13 points and three blocks, and Quentin Grimes also scored 13 points.

The 76ers led 84-76 entering the fourth quarter. Ignited by Quickley's five points, Toronto ripped off seven in a row to open the fourth. The Raptors fell behind 99-94 before tying the game with another quick run.

Maxey hit a long 2, made a layup and then nailed a 3-pointer to give Philadelphia a 107-103 lead with 20 seconds to play. Quickley's 20-footer cut the lead to two with 11 seconds left and Shead's jumper tied the game at 107 to force overtime.

Philadelphia overcame a seven-point deficit to lead 25-22 after one quarter.

Toronto picked up the pace and took a 14-point lead with 2:09 remaining in the second quarter on Alijah Martin's layup. The Raptors were up 58-48 at halftime.

Oubre opened the third quarter with two steals and seven straight points. The 76ers continued to force the issue and led by nine with 1:45 to go in the third.

Toronto's Ja'Kobe Walter left the game in the first quarter with a hip pointer and did not return.

Joel Embiid (knee injury management) and Paul George (knee) did not play for Philadelphia.

Brandon Ingram (thumb) and RJ Barrett (ankle) were out for Toronto.
